The groynes which are present in the project area are usually situated beneath the low water line. These groynes were covered with sand due to widening of the beach within 4 months after the installation of the Ecobeach system. The beach retreated again after the removal of the system which led to the return to the original situation, with groynes below the low waterline, after two years.
